Residential Sign Fabricator

Constructs sign structures of wood, plywood, acrylic, metal and other materials by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Studies work order and drawings for information pertaining to the type of materials required, and dimensions of structure to be fabricated.
Prepares layout and cut list, and marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.
Shapes material to measurements by hammering, chipping, and grinding materials.
Set up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, drill press, end mill, edge planer, saws, and sanders.
Assembles by cutting and shaping materials, and fastening them together with nails, dowels pins, or glue or welding.
Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenters level as required.
Erects framework for structures when required.
Welds metal parts to steel structural members.
Checks product quality and signs off on materials used.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read tape measure as well as apply the concept of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SharePoint-DeNet Database software.
